Nikon D7100 Review And Specifications

By Christopher Goldman

Announced last February 2013, the D7100 Nikon has already gained a lot of positive reviews from customers and continues to impress enthusiasts. This new flagship device from the Japanese manufacturer comes with a lot of improvements such as the auto-focus, a new weather sealing protection, video features, and so much more.

Here is the review of the newest and best-selling D7100 from Nikon:

Sensor/Processor - These are the two departments where this camera got new improvements. It features a 24.1 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and coupled with the EXPEED 3 processor for high quality images and fast and accurate response. It also comes with high ISO low light performance of 100 - 400, and up to 25600 expanded.

High-Speed Performance and Auto-focus - Enjoy fast and accurate focus with its 51 point AF system and this is a big improvement from its predecessor. Also, one of the best things that should be highlighted is that it focuses better even in very low light environments. You will also love how fast this is at 6 fps.

Display - A lot of people really enjoyed using the articulating screen and this might be something that others will miss in this newest device from Nikon. It has a 3.2 inch TFT LCD display with 1,228,800 dot resolution which is definitely of better quality and presents a lot of useful data.

Videos - This is one area where this product stands out. It has a headphone jack, a microphone jack, and an audio meter which displays sound levels on the screen. Also, using the HDMI port, you can view and record videos using an external device. You can capture 1080 HD video of up to 30p.

Design and Accessories - The material used is not all magnesium alloy but the critical areas are which is kind of not a big deal. It is lighter and smaller and those with smaller hands will be comfortable with it. It has the same Nikon EN-EL Lithium-Ion battery with MH-25 recharger. Also, it has 2 micro-SD card slots which can be very important.

Another very interesting addition is the "I" button which is located at the lower left. It is a very useful short cut to adjust settings even on live view.

Final Words - The D7100 Nikon is known for its sharp and detailed images and responsiveness. Its predecessor, the D7000, was very successful and with the improvements that this camera have, we can easily say that it will make a lot of enthusiasts and professionals alike very happy.
