How To Boost Your PC Performance

By Jorge Brown

Most of us are familiar with getting dismayed with our computer as it is not working as fast as it was when we first purchased it. Are you aware that when this occurs, many individuals go out and buy a new laptop, when in fact, just because they're running slower, it doesn't meant they're completely outdated. You ought to follow these tips that will keep your personal computer running faster for much longer.

One mistake that many are guilty of is to keep all your information in one location, or rather, on one computer. There's simply no need for this. By using an external hard drive you can still have instant access to all you need, but without having to put such a huge strain on your laptop. By doing this you will also ensure that you have a backup for your data.

Your laptop may be running slower than normal as you have too many programs on there. It's unlikely that you will be working with everything that's installed so you should have a clean up from time to time to be certain you only have what you need.

Do you possess more than one antivirus? If you do, it is likely that your laptop is running slowly. Pick one antivirus and stick to it, having multiple programs running in the background constantly will make your personal computer clunky and slow. You don't need more than one antivirus, select one that works and stick to it. If you read this, and you choose to uninstall an antivirus, make sure you get it done properly. There are many free online softwares that will help you uninstall your antivirus and make sure that there aren't any ghost files left in your system.

Updates can be a tricky thing; ensure that your personal computer system is updated; this will ensure that your personal computer runs smoother. Every system has an official way to inform you that there are official updates that are needed for your machine. But beware of updating programs that you have stopped using; they'll just take extra space in your system and make everything slower. Update only what's necessary, if you are getting update notifications from programs that you have not used in years, they're most likely not doing any good to your system.
