The operations of the factories and the people depend on this substance for their daily needs. Without it, the factories cannot manufacture their own products. And people would not have a means for transportation.

But the oil will not be considered a finished product if it is not pure. This means that there are still processes it has to undergo before it can actually reach the surface. One thing that you have to know about separators is that there are different types out there. But the main elements that are needed in the process must be present no matter how different it is from the other. For example, a separator must have various vessels for several levels of the separation procedure. There is also a need for it to have volumetric liquid capacity so that it can handle surges of liquid whenever this happens.

If you are wondering what the main functions of the separators are, one would be the removal of gas from oil. In this case, the basis for the calculation would be the chemical characteristics that are seen in the oils such as the temperature and the pressure to know the exact amount of gases to be extracted.

If it is the reverse procedure, other steps apply. To remove oil from the gases, there needs to be an accurate measurement of the density of both substances. And after thorough separation, it is only then that the gases are released.

Water needs to also be separated from the oils. Before, this seems to be the problem for most engineers and operators because it is difficult to separate the two liquid contents. But as innovations were created over the years, the process have become easier and more efficient. Afterwards, the water is treated so that it can still be utilized for other purposes.

Pressure is a defining factor in each of the procedure. Be it gas to liquid or liquid to liquid, it is necessary. And it should always be present until the entire purifying procedure is finished.
