The Wonderful World Of Prezi Presentation Design

By Daphne Bowen

New presentation tools such as prezi have recently emerged in a bid to change how presentations are made. Different prezi presentation design has helped individuals and groups explore uncharted territory in techniques of displaying their data. Its conceptualization has helped bridge the gap between old redundant presentation tools and new exciting technology.

It is a pretty resent technology having been founded in 2009 by three Hungarian developers. It is used by all kinds of people and groups. Business executives, teachers and even students are part of the large community that benefits from the dynamism offered by prezi when making their presentations. It has also served to enable the audience to learn more and appreciate the content being displayed in these lectures without having to sit through lengthy boring speeches.

The applications are not limited to those with an acute understanding of computers and applications. Virtually anybody can set up online accounts at prezi.com where one can sign up and proceed to explore all that it has to offer. A lot of web based tutorials exist to guide you in the earlier stages of design implementation. After creating an account however one is required to select their membership, either free or paid.

Getting down to the nifty gritty of design elements, one will notice an array of different template designs available at your disposal. These are only meant to serve as a guiding principle on the overall outlook of your final design. They serve to provide a basis of interaction between your text, colors and objects orientation. The 2-D and 3-D features popular with it are also determined by the choice of template design.

The themes only go as far giving you the ground work. The actual meat of the content will have to be supplied by you. This should not in any way be a daunting task for if you focus your ideas around the major points of you argument then the rest of the intricate details will be filled naturally.

Key to its evolution is the ability to stand out as a dynamic, non linear tool to expressing ones ideas. This serves to breathe life to an otherwise boring conventional slide approach. The other crucial factor is that it is an open source software available to anybody with access to the internet.

The older generations are however more conservative and prefer to stick to the animal they are more familiar with. This is not surprising judging by the amount of effort, although slight, that is required to gain an understanding of its means of operation. Prezi being web based can in some ways also hinder access say to individuals who may not necessarily have a reliable internet connection. Audiences have also complained of experiencing dizzy spells when exposed to quick moving 3-D illustrations.

This brings us to an understanding that prezi is an extremely useful tool that should be adopted by all those who feel the need of adding some oomph to how they present their work. The only thing that we have to encourage in us is the need to learn new things and find relevant ways of applying them to our day to day existence.
