A Small Checklist Before You Buy A Business PC

By Daniel Kennedy

It seems that you are in the market right now for a computer, now that you have started your own business. In starting your own business you have thought of the advantages of being organized and automating standard tasks, and so you are looking for a decent business PC. However, prior to purchasing one, it may be a good idea to read this first.

It may be advisable for you to prepare a small checklist to assist you in your search. Quite a few or rather, quite a number would scoff at this idea and saying it is too simple and primitive. However, your goal is to have no room for error, and a checklist will ensure that you have all bases covered.

Figuring out what you will be doing daily is something that should be included at the top of your list. Classify your daily work routing into items such as general clerical work, communications work, or even photo and video editing work. If you are able to get a general idea of what you will be doing primarily, then you will have a general idea of what to get and at what cost.

If upon completion of your task inventory you find out that you may need to dabble in a little bit of everything, then your best bet will be a mid range computer. A mid range computer will typically run an i5 processor or equivalent with around 8 or 16 gb of Random Access Memory, or RAM. It will also have at least a 500 gigabyte hard drive installed also.

On the far end however, if you feel that all your jobs will just be clerical and such, then a good entry level computer, priced usually around 300 dollars, should do fine. In the marketplace today, all major manufacturers compete heavily in the entry level market, and you will find you have plenty to choose from.

Buy a computer from a brand that is reputable and proven in the market place. Get from a manufacturer whose units are ones that can last for three years or more so you do not need to upgrade frequently. Also buy one from a manufacturer that has proven customer service guarantees and excellent after sales servicing.

Never is it also a good idea to think of playing games on your business computer, despite its ability to be able to do so. This is because games will have their own settings and default adjustments which can affect the overall running of your machine when it needs a job done. It is always good to buy a separate computer for games if you do plan on playing.

Thus this short article has shown some basic considerations that you should take into mind before you buy that next or first business computer of yours. There are of course other things to consider, but definitely what has been covered should provide a good foundation as a start to your overall decision making and choice.
